PUBLIC LANDS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (PLDC)
CAP has been working with a broad cross-section of the community (unions, environmental groups, developers, contractors, etc) on this law that was passed in 2011 as Act 55. Imho, it is a terrible law that basically gives the state and developers the right to sell, lease or develop PUBLIC land. We are deeply concerned that the Maui complex will be a project of the PLDC and will be exempt from state and county laws that protect people and the environment. We are watching this closely.
Here for more information.
