Nolan Espinda appointed Director of Public Safety

Sakai, Wong to be replaced as Ige announces more appointments

“Ted Sakai will no longer serve as director of the state Department of Public Safety.

“On Wednesday, Gov. David Ige appointed Nolan Espinda as his replacement, subject to Senate confirmation.

“Espinda has been serving as the warden at the Halawa Correctional Facility since 2009. He has been employed by the department since 1983, and has served in multiple correctional facility positions.

“Maj. Gen. Darryll Wong will be replaced as adjutant general by Col. Arthur “Joe” Logan. Logan is currently serving as director of operations/G3, Hawaii Army National Guard (HIARNG), a position he has held since October 2013″
