THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP.
YOU’VE GOT THE MAGIC! WAM has scheduled both HB 1046 SD1 (wrongful imprisonment) and HB 1774 SD1 (Outreach and support for homeless youth) for Wednesday, March 30th. WAM does not take oral testimony, so if you can go to the capitol website, sign in, pull up the bill number, click on “submit testimony” and then SUPPORT, that would be so awesome. Both of these bills are really good and we want to get them over the finish line!
PLEASE WORK YOUR MAGIC ONCE MORE TO GET THE FOLLOWING BILLS SCHEDULED AND PASSED. WE NEED TO CONTACT THE COMMITTEE CHAIRS of FINANCE (FIN) AND THE SENATE JUDICIARY AND LABOR COMMITTEE (JDL) TO ASK THEM TO SCHEDULE THE FOLLOWING BILLS.
PLEASE CONTACT SEN. KEITH-AGARAN, JDL CHAIR – email@example.com
Respectfully ask that JDL schedule HB 2391 SD1 (Rel. Certain Misdemeanants) and pass this bill
PLEASE CONTACT REP. LUKE, FIN CHAIR – 586-6200 –firstname.lastname@example.org
Respectfully ask that FIN schedule and pass SB 2392 HD2 (Overdose Prevention) and SB 2630 HD1 (Hawai`I Correctional Industries sale of products to public) these important bills.
UPDATE: HB 2561 HD1, the Penal Code Review bill was heard this morning. Kaneshiro brought in lots of police (lining the back row) and retailers to try to stop the theft and meth provisions. The committee deferred decisionmaking to 9:30 am on Wednesday 3.30. Let’s hope they don’t give in.
